ALUG@UCI Learning Services

ALUG@UCI Learning Services is a free Linux playground for UCI students to experiment with Linux, whether it's experimenting with tools or learning during our hands-on workshops.

Why Not OpenLab?

OpenLab is a more restrictive environment that limits your ability to experiment in meaningful ways, such as installing software. It is also restricted to students in the ICS department.

ALUG@UCI Learning Services aims to provide a (mostly) fully featured Linux environment accessible via SSH that does not restrict your ability to install software or change configuration settings. It is also open to all students at UCI rather than just those in the department of ICS.
