ALUG@UCI Community Guides
Free encyclopedia for ALUG@UCI members to share guides and tutorials.
Features
- Create and contribute to open-source community guides
- Write guides using simple Markdown files
- Uses Git for version control and collaboration
Get Started
Starting a guide is as simple as opening a repository on our Git server and pushing your markdown files.
Guide repos must be named ending with "guide" or "Guide" to be recognized as a community guide (ex: installing-linux-guide).
Users can have multiple guide repos, and each repo can have multiple pages which are just markdown files.
A README.md file at the root directory of a repo serves as the starting point of the guide, similar to an index.html file.
Collaboration
Reporting typos, correcting mistakes, and other wiki-related things use Git (opening an issue, submitting a PR, etc).
