Ankilo - spaced repetition flashcard cli

A flashcard review app and database that schedules reviews using a spaced repetition formula (SM-2)

How to use

  • Create a flashcard file and upload it
    • ankilo --upload [file_name]
  • Review cards due today
    • ankilo
  • Edit your flashcards
    • ankilo --edit > [edit_file_name]
    • modify your edit file
    • ankilo --upload-edit [edit_file_name]

Flashcard file format

Headings and topics are declared with a line beginning with '# ' and '## ' respectively. Any cards below one of these will belong to it. Cards can have at most one heading and topic each at a time.
Flashcards are lines following the format [front] - [back]
Important: ensure there is only one separator per flashcard line.

Example flashcard file: animal-sounds.md

# water animals
## mammals
seahorse - glub
# land animals
## prehistoric
trex - roar
## modern
cow - moo

Installation (linux)

Clone and run the build.sh script (which builds and moves executable to /usr/bin).
